Steps to participate

What steps do I need to take to participate in the program?

There are three steps to participate in the program

  1. The first step is to register with the PA Department of Health.

    • If you are an adult registering yourself, click HERE for the PA DOH Medical Marijuana registration site.

    • If you are an Adult Registering your child, click HERE Click on Apply for ID Card

  2. See an approved practitioner to get certified.  Your certifying practitioner will need to see copies of your medical record documenting the presence of one of the approved conditions.  Alternatively, a letter from a treating physician documenting the presence of the condition is also acceptable.

  3. After the practitioner has entered your information into the state system, you will get an email from the state.  Go back onto the website to complete your application and pay your fee ($50).  Your medical marijuana card will be sent to you.  It typically takes about two weeks for your card to arrive.  Once you have your card, you are free to visit one of the many dispensaries in our area to purchase medical marijuana.
